This is a collection of my poetry, political observations, and art clips. I will work under the thesis that these things can succesfully be combined.

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota, United States

I've been drawing all my life. One of my earliest memories is of drawing a stickman on my parents staircase wall with a black crayon. I drew cartoons and wrote for the the Onion in its earliest days. I did a couple animated shorts that appeared on MTV. I have worked the same job for 20 years. My wife and 2 cats now tolerate my own Big Time Studio that resides in our compact apartment.

Universal Single Payer Health Care

It is better to set the adgenda by being FOR something,
rather than being generally ideological. People respond
better to concrete proposals that they can see will help them.
Concrete proposals also are "offensive" rather than "defensive"
in a debate. They make something that the opposition must respond
to. They help set the adgenda. They make people talk about your
thing, rather than the opposition's thing.

This is partly why Democrats have been so pathetic - they propose
nothing, they let the enemy set the adgenda. They are passive.
They don't even think that the enemy is the enemy. Actually -
the Democratic Party must remake itself, or be hollowed out.
The rot taken out, the deadwood. People who stand for something
must be put in their place.

The Democrats should put forth a Big Idea. That big idea - or
at least one of them - must be (at last!) Universal Single-Payer
Health Care. I mean, really - can this be more obvious? It's
just a good idea. It would be administered by an agency of the
government. This would reduce administrative costs greatly, and
make everything more efficient. The rising costs of health care
that threatens to destroy so much of our economy would be
stemmed. Drug costs could be negotiated. People could get care
before needing to go to expensive and inefficient emergency rooms.

The Dems should push this, and talk about it. A lot. They should
not stop talking about it. Universal Single Payer Health Care
should become the answer to all their questions, until they achieve
it, then the next item on the adgenda should become the
answer to all their questions.

Hey Democrats, listen:

Become a party of ideas.
Shun the wimpy image.
Stand for something.

Wimpy Democrats Commentary

re: Joe Biden/Lieberman, DLC democrats:

The kind who sit around hoping no bully hits them,
if they keep quiet, and who side with the bullies
when someone on their supposed side speaks up, in
hopes that the bullies will look upon them more
favorably.

Their "strategy" is to be as passive as possible,
never on the the offense, never inititating anything
that will make their enemies uncomfortable. They are
always surprised when their enemies say or do anything
that would make them uncomfortable, continually caught
off guard when their passive, genteel behaviour is not
reciprocated.

sky grasp (poem)

"my grasp of the sky is tenuous
yet the sea, it is so so so"
with that
he hopped in a boat and sailed to the tip
of the Strait of the Isles
In Z-land
(strombulently so)
Linda, the psychic squirrel
wrote surreptitioulsly lucid pornography
on the stern of the boat
hiding her glasses
under her sternum
mumbling about tepid tea and bottled drinks
orange like the sea
paper hats hidden as prizes in the packaging
